DOODROCK Physical theatre and spoons

Doodrock brings its unique blend of physicality. music

and spectacle to the "'

Fringe. The Korean group uses conventional kitchen implements. as well as conventional musical instruments in its performance, and was one of the acts that opened the World Cup in Korea. I Gateway, 37 7 3939, a 226/M19, 7pm, £9

(£7).

The big names are selling like hot cakes already but what else are the ticket buying public going ape for?

Mrs Watson, a biology teacher from Canterbury.

I finally got tickets for Parsifal (Festival Theatre, 12-18 Aug). I love Wagner and luckily I have also been able to get tickets to Siegfried (Festival Theatre. 25—31 Aug) although I know they have been sold out for ages. I saw the earlier two parts of Die Wa/kure in 2001 and am delighted to come back for some more.

Janet Pickering, a nurse from Morningside.

I am off to see Turn of the Screw (King‘s Theatre, 23—26 Aug) and can't wait. I have never been to the opera before but love Henry James. As this is sung in English I thought it would be worth a try. I am taking my boyfriend with me as I have heard it's a little scary! I‘ve also booked tickets for The Blind (Festival Theatre. 24—30 Aug). It looks quite creepy as well . . . should be a real experience.

Elinor Tennick, a biochemistry student from Edinburgh.

I am booking tickets for my parents as a surprise present for their anniversary. I had wanted to get hold of tickets for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra (Usher Hall. 27—28 Aug) for the 27th, their actual anniversary. but it'll have to be the 28th now. They will still be totally chuffed. I know mum loves Prokofiev.
