who’ll bare his heart. soul and lungs for an audience. When we chat. he’s barely awake. swearing profusely and hacking through the day‘s first cigarette. but the ebullient Aussie is feeling fired up for lidinburgh. After last year"s Fig/II Club—style tussle between his sensitive Brendon and aggressive Burnsy egos. he‘s relishing taking himself further apart with All My Love. ."H .lly Rage. The dramatic device of

"l‘here are a couple of things I need to tweak btit I did it last night and it’s hilarious.‘ he grandstands. 'livcry year I like to do something a little different and this is definitely like nothing I've done before. There's still some filth in there and there’ll be something for fans of both sides of the persona. But it‘s just one long story. culminating in getting a thousand people high on mushrooms at Glastonbury.”
At the risk of spoiling the show. he’s reluctant to say too much about his experience of handing out massive quantities of hallucinogens and then. while suitably off his tits. flinging himself from a lighting rig into the crowd. But he does reveal that ‘it was a year to the day at Glastonbury I discovered my ex was seeing another man. So I planned to have an experiment with the collective unconscious and then call her. sing a song. forgive her and myself in turn. then by people finding it funny. heal the whole thing. It just didn‘t work out like that.‘

comedians attempting to outdo each other with the world's filthiest joke. is screening at the lidinburgh l‘ilm l’estival. 'l‘he duo‘s untitled
documentary on Burns is an ongoing project and the comic hopes to shoot more footage at the Fringe. perhaps at a benefit gig he intends to organise for the linthcogen Defence Fund. II was they who supplied Burns with the mushrooms. which were upgraded to (‘lass A status on a par with heroin and crack cocaine only last month. "l‘he film itself is about the medicinal qualities of laughter and my attempt to make everything funny. the mushrooms obvioust acting as a catalyst. Paul's had huge success with The :irisint'ruls so it‘s a big deal and very sweet of him to come over and take the time to do this film. But at the same time we had a ball.
