FREE SHOWS "9

Everyone loves a freebie. By watching a show for nothing. you can risk seeing something dire without endangering your beer money and could end up seeing a fantastic perfomtance. The Free Fringe is dedicated to grasping the true spirit of the Festival as a showcase for talent. not money. Supporting free shows won‘t topple £15 a ticket big names but could breathe life back into an increasingly expensive Fringe.

The streets of Auld Reekie are alive with the sound of Festival performers. Take pity on these people. Many have re-mortgaged their homes for the privilege of performing to single figure audiences. Yet others have cash to fritter away on huge batches of Fruit of the Loom T shirts advertising this year's 117th version of The Birthday Party. More environmentally friendly than flyers, but still a waste of sweatshop labour.

A show with mono famous In the We Who thought that by sticking a zeitgeisty name in the title. their show would suddenly become wonhy of an hour of our precious lives? See: Meeting Joe Summer.
