The festival is, as always. packed full of worthy messages with comedy addressing everything from politics to love via environmental disasters. The Congress of Oddities and The Trap. this is an hour dedicated to cheery nonsense. Although their reputation has been based on truly chaotic shows. The Clock Hour aims to be a tad more polished.
Their ‘really stupid' show takes its name from the scary. smiley Christian celebrity. a woolly icon previously sent up by Legge in his fiendisth evil character named. unsurprisingly, The Real Daniel O'Donnell. The title of the show has already attracted criticism from fans of the God-botherer, with one of his stalkers ironically complaining that Legge and co ‘don't know what he‘s really like.‘ It may have offended some crazies already but. Legge points out (after dubiously linking his character to the Real IRA). that just makes it ‘childishly political.’ Amen to that. (Sian Bevan)
