Our first festival issue goes to

press before any shows have taken place, which makes reviewing them

pretty difficult. That’s never stopped

internet commentators, however, and there are already some hearty

debates in some of our comment

sections. Here are some of the best you can join in the conversation at

THE C WORD Week one’s winner in our annual shout-out for Fringe show freebies comes from Lord Byron (sort of). We won’t pretend we weren’t a little disconcerted when we unwrapped the colouring book we didn’t know we always wanted, but brightened up when we thought of the down-time fun we could have between shows. The gift is courtesy of More C*nt Than Cant, a play based on the sordid life of Byron, starring Paul Huntley-Thomas. More C*nt Than Cant, Momentum Studio @ St Stephen’s, 516 2880, 7-30 Aug (not 18), 8.30pm, £9.50- £10.50. Preview 6 Aug, £5.

If you’re not above exchanging presents for Fringe performance exposure, send some of your best swag to Big Fat Festival Bribe, The List, 14 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1TE.
