SWEETEN THE DEAL Our annual shout-out for bribes got under way a few weeks ago cos we like to get in early with our (defi nitely legal) doings. The rst Bribe of the Week for 2016 combines some of our favourite things: poetry and dodgy sweets. Yes, we will gorge ourselves on out- of-date, half-eaten banana Twinkies cos that’s how low we journalists sometimes sink. Anyway, they were from Beattie & Scratchmann, whose show Edinburgh in the Shadows #2 takes you down the dark side streets of our fair city via storytelling and spoken word. Edinburgh in the Shadows #2, Cowgatehead, 6pm, 18–27 Aug, 6pm, free.

To win our favour, send some of your best swag to Big Fat Bribe, The List, 14 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1TE
