CANALETTO & THE ART OF VENICE

This summer the Queen’s Gallery is hosting the largest exhibition of works by Canaletto ever to be shown in Scotland. The works were purchased wholesale by George III from

TACITA DEAN The central work in this major exhibition by Tacita Dean is ‘Event for a Stage’, a filmed performance by the actor Stephen Dillane which will be screened roughly hourly in the gallery. The other works in the exhibition expand on the themes explored here, looking at the figure of the actor, the role and workings of the script and the construction of sound and narrative in film.
