A SMALL COUNTRY MADE BIG Musical storytelling of Gaël Faye’s debut novel

Rapper, author and composer Gaël Faye’s stunning novel, Small Country (Petit Pays) won the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens 2016 and now, translated from French to English for the i rst time, will be brought to life at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Part of the Playing with Books strand, the event is sure to be a compelling mixture of storytelling in English and French combined with haunting music. Faye (pictured) will be joined by Rwandan musician Samuel Kamanzi, actor Thierry Lawson and translator Sarah Ardizzon for a performance that promises to be expansive in more ways than one.
