COMEDY HITLIST

Brian Donaldson picks out the comedy highlights from week three of the Fringe

IMRAN YUSUF The story of how the first ever Free Fringe act to receive a Best Newcomer nomination began to evaluate his life and found that he’d come up short. See review, page 55. The Stand’s New Town Theatre, until 26 Aug (not 20), 5.30pm, £10 (£9).

JORDAN BROOKES Another stirringly innovative hour from the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee in which he literally gets inside his audience’s collective head. See review, page 43. Pleasance Courtyard, until 26 Aug, 8.30pm, £10–£13 (£9–£12).

LUCY PEARMAN This Fruit Loop gives us another show from the odder side of the comedic spectrum, and it’s all the better for that. See review, page 52. Monkey Barrel, until 27 Aug (not 15), 6.30pm, £6 in advance or donations at the venue.

MAISIE ADAM The Brighton-based Yorkshire lass delivers a strong debut with Vague, a show partly about her epilepsy. See review, page 51. Gilded Balloon Teviot, until 27 Aug, 4.30pm, £9 (£8).

NATALIE PALAMIDES Another bravura hour as the Best Newcomer from 2017 goes deep into the heart of toxic masculinity in Nate. See review, page 56. Pleasance Courtyard, until 26 Aug, 6pm, £11–£13 (£10–£12).

LOST VOICE GUY ALEX EDELMAN

The reigning Britain’s Got Talent winner shows that he can get political as well as personal with Inspiration Porn. See review, page 45. Gilded Balloon Teviot, until 26 Aug, 4pm; 15 Aug, 7.30pm, £9–£12 (£8–£11). Having explored the murky depths of New York’s neo-Nazi movement, Edelman returns to tell a very funny tale. See review, page 47. Pleasance Courtyard, until 26 Aug, 8pm, £10–£14.
