o Carltas Youth Orchestra Concert Reid Concert Hall, Teviot Row, Bristo Square. 7.30pm. £2 (£1) at door. Founded in 1970 by a group of young students at George Watson’s College, the Caritas Youth Orchestra has now grown to include young musicians from all over Edinburgh, whether at school, college or university. It’s a popular and enjoyable programme of Delius’s La Calinda, Faure’s Pavane, Echoes of Ossian by Nils Gade and Beethoven’s Symphony No 1. Usually the orchestra’s concerts are in aid of charity, but this one has to be in aid of itself due to lack of funds. Do help this highly worthwhile youth orchestra to keep up its valuable work.
