The Omer Hicks Orchestra arrived in

' New York early in 1926 with ‘Wild Bill’

Davison on cornet. Already a veteran jazz player, he had made his recording debut two years earlier.

A protessional musician tor sixty years, he keeps up a schedule of international dates and the Queen’s Hall concert in Edinburgh (Friday 7) sees him trading with old partner Jim Galloway, on soprano, tenorand baritone sax. Jim was born in Scotland but since the sixties has been a moving
