0 The Stupidsfl he Cateran Rooftops. Sauchiehail Street. 332 5883. 10.30pm. I‘ve never heard the Stupids. but it isa good name. and 1 did see them looking terribly uncomfortable while modelling skateboarding gear for one of the teeny bop magazines. The Cateran. on the other hand. have drawn many comparisons with Stiff Little Fingers most of them entirely justified. Whether you see that as a compliment or not is debatable.

O Anaconda La Taniere. 15 Fox Street. 221 4844. 9pm. Free. Legend (or at least the press release) has it that Anaconda were ‘formed in 1979 after a heavy drinking session in the legendary Burns’ Howff.‘ A recent sighting at Kelvingrove suggests that they still haven‘t recovered from the hangover.

0 Exit the Lemming Blackfriars. Bell Street. 9pm. Free. Credit to Blackfriars for a wide variety of music. although their description of the wonderfully named Exit The Lemming could be more helpful than ‘modern rock'. It just doesn't seem to fit the name.
