Like the Shore they are mostly small. often have a popular bar as well as a restaurant. and specialise in fish. There's live music in the evenings and snacks are served all day. Just off the Royal Mile and very close to the Fringe Office. this is a genuine French Creperie and crepes are distinctly the best things on the menu. Open seven days but evenings only (5pm—midnight). o Luca’s Cafe 34 High Street. Musselburgh. 031 665 2237. A bus ride from the city centre. Musselburgh is a small town on Edinburgh‘s outskirts which contains the Brunton Theatre venue. Don't pay it a visit without taking the opportunity to visit the town's famous Luca‘sC‘afe. A genuine Italian cafe in the best tradition. its world famous (and that‘s probably not a exaggeration) for its icecream. 9am- 10pm weekdays; 10.30am- 10pm Suns. 0 Viva Mexico 10 Anchor Close. (off Cockburn Street). Edinburgh. 031 226 5145. Relatively new Mexican Restaurant (the city already has Tex Mex on Ilanover Street. which is also worth sampling). Seems to be the genuine article? Prices range from £4-£7 for a main meal. Mon-Sat noon-2.30pm.
