COASTERS COMPLEX

Residing in West Tollcross for many a year. Coasters has provided Edinburgh right across the board with nightlife entertainment. You've had gigs. discos and happenings for Trendies. Schemies. Reggae Punters. Jazz Coolies. Gays and the partially amused-all accommodated in the complex's fourlunction venues.

Following a recent absence of three months due to problems with bouncers. it re-opened on 14 August with new staff and a TV ad to slot them easily back into the groove.

Through the Square Window. Outer Limits (Fri—Sun) caters for the conventional disco-goer. Among this venue‘s features are a full sized American sprung dance floor and Twin Lazer complementing the lighting. Through the Round Window. we

see the Goombay Beat (Fri and Sat)—byfarthe longest established Reggae Club and long time resident olCoasters. A glance at the Triangularwindow shows on Friday the T-Bone Heavy Funk. Hip Hop venue and on Saturdays The Texas. which before the close was open on Sundays. displaying some ofthe smartest trax/video mixing.

Not forgetting the next generation of happy laces and dancing feet. Coasters put on Roller Skating on Saturday afternoons. with an underlB‘s disco afterwards until 10pm.

During the weekthe complex plays host to private and promotional parties. The management tell us that they are open to suggestionsfor exhibitions and fashion shows but clubs during the week are a ‘no go' at the moment. (Stuart Raiker)
