Yolocamba l-Ta (see photo) are the equivalent of Chile’s lnti Illimani, touring the world putting the traditional instruments and musical lorms at the service oi the revolution. Up to date studio techniques and instrumentation are a normal ieature oi their music and their hall a dozen albums. Translated as the Seed oi rebellion’ the group are not oi the charango and llama hat variety, but highly prolessional award winning musicians, who in two years played over eight hundred concerts in twenty seven countries. Their music is on the sound track oi Oliver Stone’s harrowing iilm Salvador. The band is introduced by Liz Lochead. The next evening the group contribute to a pena at the Gateway Exchange.

Manus Lunny. Andy, Silly Wizard‘s singer and Manus, a resourcelul and talented guitarist, bouzouki player and Irish Gaelic singer have struck up as a duo, and just released their iirst album together on Green Linnet. Guest musicians include Aly Bain, Phil Cunningham and uillean piper Sean Og Potts. Traditional songs irom Scotland and Ireland, given great expression and varied and interestingly paced arrangements are mixed with some oi Andy’s own compositions which tend to the sentimental. The iavourite Irom the north east, Bogie’s Bonnie Belle is exquisiter sweet/sour and they carry The Humours 0i Whiskey, an educated lrishman's long hymn to the miraculous properties oi the cratur, at an hypnotic bar room shuttle.
