Christmas Art and Poetry Competition Sun 27 2—5pm. Mon 28-Wed 30 10am—5pm. Free. Anyone aged 16 years or younger and all OAPs are invited to take part in the art competition which is to produce a drawing or painting on anything from the museum in Chambers Street or Queen Street. Paper and pencils provided (bring your own colours). A poetry competition (for 16 years and under) has also been added this year. The theme is Power. inspired by anything seen during a trip to the museum. Hand in your poems as you leave. Prizes will be awarded in both competitions in the New Year and a selection of the best will be put on display in the Main Hall.

I ASSEMBLY ROOMS George Street AThousand Robins 14 Dec—first week of Jan. The latest project from the highly individual sculptor George Wylie (who constructed a straw locomotive hung from a crane on Clydeside during Mayfest) will have an appropriate festive theme. Masses of robins. manufactured in all shapes and sizes will be attached to the outside ofthe Assembly Rooms. There will even be an accompanying tape of bird song.
