By the Spring we’ll have had concerts from bands led by blistering drummer Billy Cobham and singerAstrid Gilberto; a concert, to be televised, featuring tenor toting Tommy Smith at his, amazingly, 21st birthday party, and a heavyweight month of saxophonists when we can overdose on Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter and Jan Garbarek.
