Glasgow's annual Julyfolk event has tightened up over the years to a viable, cosy week of concerts, ceilidhs, a few singing competitions and a good mix of dance teams from asiarapart in Europg as Reykjavik and Prague.
The Albion Dance Band, see photo, are one otthose big English groups that
can trace their ancestry back to the early species of electric lolk rockery that emerged as Fairport Convention. They supercharge the Grand Festival Ceilidh on the Friday, where the guests include a women‘s side from some of Sunday’s plethora of dancers, the fabulously named Lizzie Dripping. (Norman Chalmers)
