i More and more people are opting to let someone else have the (‘hristmas Day turkey-stress by spending the festive period away from home. Many Scottish hotels do three-day breaks over the festive period which include Christmas dinner or lunch. plus other entertainments ranging from golf to 'l‘rivial Pursuits.

Three day breaks are also offered for Scotland's notorious l logmanay - a day to prepare yourself. a day to get the hang-over and a day to recover from it. Lumps ofcoal. a piper. live bands. some sort of dinner-dance and well-stocked bars are standard New Year fare at most hotels.
