I Hibs V Rangers Easter Road Stadium. Albiott Road. Edinburgh. 3pm. Those embittered old cynlcs who. for sontc inexplicable reason. do rtot wartt Rangers to win the league will regard this match as one of the best remaining opportunitiesto daslt the (ilasgow club's aspirations. NIGEL BENN

Alter a sixty-seven second victory in his last bout, Commonwealth middleweight champion Nigel Benn laces Mbayo Wa Mbaio, another virtually unknown Atrican, at the Kelvin Hall on Tuesday 28. Benn will be looking lor his twenty-second quick win in twenty-two lights, in the hope that alterthis match he may at last get to tight Michael Watson or the British champion Herol Graham. The contest is overten rounds.

Benn’s lame increased unexpectedly shortly betore his last bout, when the Metropolitan police issued a phototit picture at a wanted man which was in tact a touched up snap ot Benn. Why? Perhaps the wanted man looked too much like Steven Waldorl lor comtort. Whateverthe real reason, it led to some loolhardy person attempting a citizen's arrest on Benn: the lact that the only damage sustained by the so-called Dark Destroyer was to one ol his lists is enough to suggest the outcome at that particular encounter.

The main supporting bout, contested over eight rounds, matches Donnie Hood, the leading contender tor the British bantamweight title, with John Vasquez of Texas. (Stuart Bathgate)
