The Discovery Dome is a place where you can get intimately involved with

in the Royal Botanic Gardens houses over 40 exhibits which require your involvement in one form or another. The Spin Stand is typical: to demonstrate some of the principles of rotational motion, you spin yourself at
speed on a podium, leaning out to slow
down or pulling in to speed up. The Discovery Dome must be one of the most enjoyable events in the Science Festival and well worth a visit. See Exhibitions listings for details.

The Science Booktair promises an exciting line-up of book displays. talks and discussions. 0n show are thousands of titles. both science fiction and science fact. from over forty publishers. Each of the four days of the fair has a theme which is alsothe subject of a half day public symposium. Running concurrently with these is a series of talks on science fiction and SF writing with contributions from eminenttiction writers including Alasdair Gray and John Brunner.
