Bare boards and curios on the wall add to a relaxed atmosphere. but I think the bear‘s head might be a bit over the top. Interesting looking food is also on offer (even the bar rolls haye things like smoked ham and asparagus in them). I Stockbridge should soon have its own Malaysian restaurant ~ rumour has it that both (iraham Allison. owner of Negociants. and the proprietor ol the Singapore restaurant on the High Street fancy the premises of Chez Julie in Raeburn l’lace. Malaysian cuisine is quite trendy at the moment among a younger. slightly yuppie. yaguely health-conscioUs but gastronomically adyeiiturotis set. so Stockbridge is just the place for such a yenture. I Madogs has just reyamped with new buffet bar downstairs and American style ritzy restaurant upstairs (to open 2 June). I Pastiticio North Bridge. Official opening 9June. The latest in a large chain of fresh pasta restaurants. Open everyday noon—midnight. it offers a welcome alternative to the ubiquitous pizza parlour. Glasgow/burl news new issue.’
