A one offon Sat 23rd of December front the Junkyard Crew. with DJ's Peter and Keith on the decks providing ()n-L' sounds. new beat. electro. etc. etc. They've got a hold of a 6K Turbo Sound PA and are presenting two bands. I Fandango Red Hot Pepper Club. 10pm—4am. £2.50. Sunday always brings out a mixed crowd of people. From your upfront. dead trendy hairdresser to the disco casualty who is off from work on a Monday. The Fandango is no different. apart from the clever handout. showing a FAN. Desperate DAN and a green light for G0. The organiser has not done much to change this disco venue into what really can be done to this place. the same goes for the advertising campaign. for which the organiser gave himself only a week. so if you don't want your punters to leave and go back to Busters. give them something to stay for.

I Messenger Hi-Fi Reggae Sound System The Venue. 10pm-2am.£21C0ncessions. For the first time in Edinburgh a reggae club who doesn‘t play ‘chart' reggae. but serious Ragamuffin. Lovers rock and some massive Dub. Papa Zeb 1 has been around the Edinburgh club scene fora while ‘toasting‘ in various clubs. so it's good to see him behind the decks ofhis‘ own club. a pumping bass. sampling to full effect and using the 4k PA to its best. Strictly Bubbling.

I o-Zone Cinderellas Rockerfcllas. 7.30—10.30pm. £1 .50 (50p with ticket). Trendy teen disco for 14—18 year olds. 50p tickets should still be in circulation.

VVednesdays

I Breathless Pottcrrow. 8pm— lam. Students £1 .50 guest 50p with matriceard. Since the last review Breathless has managed not just to draw a good crowd but also to encompass more up to date club sounds. playing tracks from groups such as NWA. De la Soul and Lisa Stanfield. making this student club one of the best of its kind. May be the fact that they have the cheapest bar prices in town has something to do with Breathless not losing itsidentity of also being fun. See panel.

I The Deep The Mission. l0.30pm—3am. £2. For a club w hose playlist hasa reputation for being one of the best around. it's a shame that the Edinburgh club-goers don't seem to support it more. The Deep is one of the best clubsin Izdinburgh during the week. so godown there and has e a ras c!

Roxy's efforts seem to has e succeeded »- it w as designer gear au go go. from Richmond to Westwood. Look out for the Flag Sisters and move to the sounds of the Dreadnought lli-Fi Sound system.

I Shag The Mission and Shady Ladies. 10.30pm-3am. £1.50. Youthful (which isn‘t necessarily a bad thing) night on both floors of this venue. supplying easy dance sounds to a large if not tall crowd.
