Our competition with Ritz Newspaper Magazine was predictably popular and the winner 01 the much coveted carphone, satellite dish and liletime's subscription to Ritz was Alice Taylor (Edinburgh). She answered correctly that Jerry Hall is Mick Jagger’s girllriend and that Jason is the name of Sean Connery's son. The current issue at Ritz is available lrom newsagents price £2 and leatures interviews with Robert Mitchum and Joanna Lumley. Our Book Festival Supplement Trustlands (Chambers £12.95) competition required a pretty thorough knowledge of the National Trust lor Scotland. The Palace of Culross was bought lor £700 by the Trust in 1932, Glencoe was the lirst major area to be acquired, and it was on St Kilda that the inhabitants were said to have developed unusually strong ankles. The three winners were A. Marsden (Glasgow), J. Macfiitchie (Kirriemuir) and Sandy MacPherson (Edinburgh).
