I Bhundu Boys and Joe Public Mayfair. 490 Sauchiehall Street. 332 3872. 7.30pm. £5. Up and coming Dundee band fill the support slot on the welcome return by the pop group that got everyone into the sounds of Zimbabwe in the first place. Should be stowed out.

One of the most popular of Glasgow‘s younger pop bands. playing in support of the new single 'September Rain‘ on their own Planetarium label. Those attending can stay on for the CFO club. 12.30—4am.

I The orthooks and The Spooks Basin Street. llaymarket Terrace. 337 1006. The Offhooks released a nostalgist '60s garage LP last year. which slotted neatly into record collections alongside The Thames. The line-up has shifted a bit since then.but we can expect more of the same. Newish group The Spooks look like becoming an interesting proposition.

Tom Hibbert's hatchet job in this month‘s Q might have raised a few eyebrows and hackles. but it got the two important bits right: Gazza never grew up. and we love i him all the more for it. I mean. ifwe hadto choose between him and the Queen Mother. we know who most people would put up against the wall. don‘t we?

I Angel Heart Winter Gardens. (£3 advance. £4 on door). A rather prestigious outing for the ambitious local heavy rockers. They promise us a good one.
