Lothian Health Board HIV/AIDS and Drugs Team are involved in initiatives aimed at preventing the spread of HIV infection in Edinburgh and the Lothians, including the establishment of Injection Equipment Exchanges. We have a vacancy for a self-motivated person, working as part of a small team, to make contact with and assist individuals and groups at risk of HIV infection to avoid the virus.

You should be imaginative, flexible and non-judgemental, and have an understanding of current [11V and drugs-related issues. Preferably you will have experience in community nursing, working with drug users, social work, health education, outreach or detached youth work. A nursing or other equivalent professional qualification would be an advantage, but consideration will be given to those with relevant experience.

A driving licence is essential.

Salary up to £16,195, Nursing Grade F/G or equivalent depending on experience.
