I ClubEveryone is only too well aware of the violence associated in the past with the club scene in Edinburgh. However. last week‘s news that The Tunnel was introducing metal detectors and body searches. after the stabbing ofone ofits patrons on the dancefloor is a sad indication that Glasgow‘s peaceful reputation. as far as clubbing goes. is taking a turn for the worse. Hopefully. these security measures. which The Tunnel have so speedily implemented. will defuse the situation before an escalation spoils The Tunnel's excellent reputation locally and. indeed. nationally as one of the country's leading clubs. Again. it‘s the old story ofa few troublemakers spoiling things for the majority who are just looking fora good night out.

I John Reid Here at The List we were saddened to hear ofthe death ofJohn Reid. manager ofThc Tunnel. Our condolences go out to his family. friends and colleagues.
