I Leith Jan Festival The third festival (sponsored by Burton‘s Ales) is the biggest yet. with over 50 different performances spread throughout the participating pubs over the weekend. Artists are mainly drawn from local sources. but include the return of the West Jesmond Rhythm Kings, and first-appearances by Jeannie Maxwell and The Jazzwegians. Annie Mchcol and Jazz Therapy, and Freddie King. plus a more modern flavouring from the Eddie Severn Duo (see also Thurs 25). saxophonist John Burgess. and the Latin-jazz groove of Picante. With music in all ten venues on a fairly continuous basis. there is plenty of choice, whatever your taste. although traditionalists will be most liberally accommodated. The venues. all in the Commercial Streeth'he Shore/ Constitution Street area of Leith. are: The Ocean Mist. The Prince Regent. The Shore Bar. Leith Oyster Bar. Waterfront Wine Bar, Todd‘s Tap. Malt and Hops. Ship On The Shore. The Tattler. and Noble's Bar.
