I Festival FM Edinburgh‘s airwaves will be buzzin' to the sounds of Festival FM between 9 Aug and 5 Sept. The station will avoid commercial pop music. concentrating on the funkyend ofthe dance spectrum. So far the DJs confirmed include the mighty Gilles Peterson as well as Richard Jobson and comedians Frank Skinner and Jack Dee. Local DJs will also be given an opportunity to take to the airwaves and can contact Celeste Neill Festival FM at 1—3 St Colme Street, Edinburgh. El 13 6AA or by telephone on 031 2208275.

The station is also running a competition to find a young DJ who will be given his or herown one hour show. interested parties should send a 15 minute demo to Festival FM at the above address. Entries should reach the offices by 15 July.

I Jazziz 5 July sees the opening at The Cotton Club ofJazziz. anew. Latin-American jazz dance club. The club will feature a crossover of flamenco. jazz. fusion and mambo from resident DJ Jasveer Carmine Sandhu.
