BBC Scotland’s Presentation Department is looking for announcers to accept the challenge of working at the very forefront of broadcasting in Scotland. Based in Glasgow, the Presentation Announcers work, out of vision, in “self-operating” continuity studios and are required to take complete control of the output of either Radio Scotland or BBC Scotland Television.
You must be able to demonstrate an awareness of Presentation’s role, editorial maturity and the ability to perform calmly under pressure whilst operating a wide range of production equipment. A versatile microphone voice and the ability to write creative and imaginative scripts are essential qualities. Operational experience in either television or radio is desirable.
Posts are likely to be offered initially as a 12 month fixed term contract. Opportunities may also exist for relief work on a freelance basis.
The salary will be in the range of $15,723 to £25,686 pa. plus an unconsolidated allowance of 33,130 pa.
