The Traverse pulls off a star-name coup by attracting Tom Courtenay to perform this one-man adaptation of the cult Russian nove by Venedikt Yerofeev. llead Rot iloliday Thurs 25—Sat 27 Feb. 8pm £7 (£3.50/£1). Clean Break Theatre Company in a play by Sarah Daniels about three young women who are long-term inmates of a mental hospital. The company i dedicated to performing to women prisoners and ex-prisoners and raises important and disturbing questions about the criminal justice system.

lloyd Iewson and 0V8 Informal Presentation Sat 13 Feb. 7.30pm. £3 (£1). Lloyd Newson has been in residence at the CCA for five weeks working with eight dancers on ideas that will eventually reach fruition. Here he gives audiences an insight into his working practices.

Untitled and Out Reactions "fire 16 Feb. 7.30pm. £3 (£1). Ex-Scottish Ballet dancer Jane Jewell shows her nnew work for Sides Dance which is inspired by Baudelaire and Manet. She‘ll also be discussing her work as part of the New Moves Gut Reactions programme.

The Nutcracker Until Sat 13 Feb. 7.30pm. Mat Sat 13 at 2.30pm. £3—£27.50. The Scottish Ballet revives Peter Darrell's production of the Tchaikovsky ballet which is based on the original classic first presented in St Petersburg 100 years ago. Russian dancer Vladislav Bubnov makes his British debut as the Nutcracker Prince played on other nights by Edinburgh-bom Roddie Patrizio.
