Researchers Children ’5 Television

Gaelic and Features Department, based in Glasgow, are involved in a wide variety of programmes including children‘s. During the past years the Department has produced children’s entertainment programmes during the school holidays including The Singing Kettle, Breakout and The Ice Cream Van. We are now expanding our programming of English language children’s 'I‘\' both for Scottish and Network transmission.

Successful candidates will be part of a team who are all required to originate and develop imaginative programme ideas across a wide range.

Applicants must have an up—to-date knowledge of (‘hildren‘s TV output and be able to demonstrate a proven ability to thoroughly research a given subject matter. Work experience in television production is desirable but not essential.

Six month contracts are offered and the successful candidates will be required to take up their posts as soon as possible, but. no later than Monday June 28th.

The salary will be in the range of £12,418 to $17,634 pa.

£9,954 - £10,644 + 14% shift allowance + weekend enhancment, Leisure Services, 35 hours per week to be worked on a 3 week shift pattern.

You will be responsible to the Senior 'I‘echnician for providing effective light and sound systems for stage and other performances.

Duties will include the arranging of lighting and sound requirements for performers; giving technical advice and practical assistance; ensuring the correct storage. translmrtation, maintenance and repair of all technical equipment; and adherence to safety requirements. Previous theatre experience and an ability to assist both stall and the general public would be required. A relevant (pialilication in technical stage management is essential as is a lull clean driving licence. Previous exlx’rience in lighting design is desirable.
