I Russell Gilbrook and Guests Salutation Hotel. 34 South Street. Perth. 7.30pm. £3. Advance tickets from Wilkies Music Shop. Okay. it's not exactly Edinburgh. but with jazz going into an extended siesta until the Festival. this is as close as you will get to something out of the ordinary run of residencies. Gilbrook is the drummer with the Chris Barber Jazz and Blues Band. but if that conjures up an image of staid traditionalism. forget it. The young drummer is a lively character on and off stage. and will give what should be a memorable drum clinic. followed by a concert in which he will be joined by blues harmonica wiz Fraser Spells, and guitarists lllgel Clark, Dominic Ashworth and Andy Marshall.
I Sandy Taylor and Henry Fullerton Society of Musicians. 73 Berkeley Street. 221 6112. 8.30pm. £1. Mainstream piano
