EDINBURGH ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH BLACK on MINORITY ETHNIC
DEVELOPMENT WORKER
EAMH, a growing voluntary organisation provides a range of services and resources in the community, and within hospital settings.
As a result of two years planning with black and minority ethnic communities in Lothian, it is about to start a three year programme, working with and for the communities, funded through Specific Grant for Mental Illness.
We are actively seeking to recruit a second Development Worker, to be a member of a team of 3, who will operate the programme. Although based in Edinburgh, it will operate throughout Lothian.
The major focus of the programme is to promote change in the way mental health services are provided in Lothian, so that they respond effectively to the specific needs of members of the black and minority ethnic communities.
Salary: NJC Salary Scale AP4 (Starting at Pt 26) £15,289 pa

VOLUNTARY COUNSELLORS FOR PEOPLE WITH ALCOHOL PROBLEMS
It you are the sort of person who cares about helping others, there is really worthwhile voluntary work to be done in the alcohol field.
Voluntary Counsellors, sympathetic to the needs of people suffering from the effects of alcohol abuse are required by local Councils on Alcohol in the following areas:-
ABERDEEN, AIRDRIE, ARGYLL& BUTE, AYRSHIRE, BORDERS, CAITHNESS, CENTRAL REGION, CLYDEBANK, COATBRIDGE, DUMBARTON, DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY, EDlN/LOTHIAN, FIFE, FORT WILLIAM, GREENOCK, MORAY, ORKNEY, PAISLEY, ROSS-SHIRE, SUTHERLAND, TAYSIDE.
No prior knowledge of alcohol problems or counselling is required as thorough training will be given. What we need is a caring approach and the willingness to devote some of your spare time on a regular basis.
