I Big Deal at The Garage. 10.30pm—3am. £3 (£2). House. soul and disco from Graham and Michelle. Skinny and spliffed out rather than fat and hairy.

I Body Mechanicsin The Attic (formerly the Cameo Suite) 10.30pm—3am. £4 (£3). Members and guests only. lfyou know about Body Mechanics then you know how good it'll be. if you don‘t. find out. Run by some fairly heavyweight Glasgow names who prefer to remain anonymous. I Bounce at the Tuxedo Princess. 9pm—3am. £6 (£3 before 10pm. £5 after 10pm with flyer). No curfew. Techno hardcore.

I The Cathouse 10pm—3am. £3 (£2.50 with ticket). Well respected rock- orientated night reaching capacity at the weekends. Industrial/rock downstairs and studenty stripey tights upstairs. Now with

mainstream chart sounds from DJ Craig (Garage) on yet another floor.

I Cleopatra’s lO.30pm—2.30am. £6. Disco. chart and mainstream with DJ Davie Johnston.

I Club Xchange llpm—3am. £4. Gay. brash. trashy and fun as ever. Happy Hour 1 1pm—12.30am. all drinks £1.25 and Becks promotion all night.

I Complications at R.A.F.A. 9pm—lam. £1.50 (£1 before 10.30pm). 1 Jul only. The wildly hip RAF club is the venue for this ‘eclectic mix of psychedelia. soul. R & B. garage and beat sounds from the 60s and 70s. with refreshments provided by an ‘absurdly cheap bar'.

I Cool lemon at Sub Club. llpm—3am. £7 (£5). 1 Jul only. Justin Robertson and Iain Paterson. Bigger hard house names than Barratt.

I Crash at The Cotton Club. 10pm—3am. £4 (£3 with matric card). A lush mix of happy sounds packing the place week after week.

I Dolly Mixture at Reds. Strathclyde University. 9ptn—2am (doors close lam). £1 (free before 10pm). Students and guests. Tam Coyle putting together a ‘credible’ assortment of student sounds. I Fluid at R.G.'s. 8pm—midnight. Free. The best in garage and house with DJs ‘Mac ‘n‘ Tosh‘. Ho. ho.

I Helter Skelter at Eruption (fonnerly the Venue). 10.30pm—3am. £3 (£2.50). Long serving rock/indie/70s/funk/kitsch night. Started in 1988. the night now re-Iaunches itself with the original DJ every week. Opening party on 1 Jul with live bands and all drinks £1.50.

: exciting guest spots over the festival. Dogtastic is putting C & W fixated techno types The Grid on Sat 3 Sept. Sativa have got the highly rated Dave Clark and Cristian Vogel (Magnetic North Records) during the festival and Tribal Funktion has garnered Eric Morillo and George Morel from Strictly Rhythm. Expect to catch the superlative old school guru DJ Pierre at Pussypower in Glasgow during July or August.
