I Cleopatra’s l0.30pm—2.30am. £6. Disco. chart and mainstream with DJ Davie Johnston. Office partytastic.

I Club Xchange i lpm—3am. £4. Gay. brash, trashy and fun as ever. Happy Hour llpm—l2.30am. all drinks £1.25 and Beck's promotion all night.

I Cool Lemon at Glasgow School of Art. lOpm-2.30am. £7 (£4). 17 March only. Cool Lemon's bittersweet duo Paterson and Price with a night of hard house joined by the Hacienda's resident DJ Graeme Park.

I Cream at Reds. Strathclyde University Student Union. 9pm—2am (doors close lam). £l. Students and guests. Steven Watt of Mo Jazz on a commercial funk and hip hop tip.

I oelrnonicas 9pm—close. Free. DJ Stella with a chart dance mix.

I Doggy Style l0.30pm-late. £2. Little Ed and Mr Smith playing ‘jumpin house‘. Bud and Becks £1 a bottle.

I Energy at The Tuxedo Princess. 9pm—3am. £6 (free before ilprn). No

curfew. Techno hardcore.

I Fluid at R.G.'s. Spur-midnight. Free. The best in garage and house from DJ Kevin.

I Friday at Cotton Club lOpnr-3am. £4 (£2.50 with matric card). A lush mix of happy sounds packing the place week after week.

I Grow Your Own at Sub Club.

I lpm—3am. £3 (£2). Martin of Goodfoot and Andy from Divine ride their Lambrettas over the legacy of the funk- orientated nights that preceded this one. pitching this as the next best thing to a rumble by the sea. Sixties film themes. soul and traditional 60s jazz as well as

contemporary dance jazz. Soon to become

I llelter Skelter at The Venue. 10.30pm—3am. £3 (£2.50). Long-serving rock/indie/70s/funk/kitsch night. Started in [988. the night still has the original DJ. I Katch at The Cathouse. Studio 3. 10pm—3am. £3. The Katch boys ripping off the Edinburgh club in name and music policy. lndie/studenty/good-time vibes. All drinks £l.50.

I liberty City at The Voodoo Room. 10.30pm—3am. The best deep house and garage club in Glasgow now goes weekly. with Nigel and Colin from Bomba presiding over the nu soul. house and garage. Special Imperial Records night on l7 March with Mr Cover Ups and 2 Deep himself, Joey Musaphia guesting.

I love Bug at The Garage. 10.30pm-3am. £3 (£2). Commercial dance with a retro edge. Entry to Lovebug also lets you investigate The Attic where the original Radio City will be plying its trade.

I Mean Streets at The 13th Note. 8pm—midnight. Free. ‘A pre club happening of urban alienation and the Devil‘s own rock and roll.‘

I liicos 9pm—midnight. Free. Nice guys Matt and Tom with a kinda acid jazzy. funky sorta pre-club.

I Parklite at The Arena. 1 lpm-3am. £3.50 (£2.50). Post Mod club playing the best of Brit pop from the 60s onwards plus film footage on video screens. Getting busy. with a hard core of loyal fans. All drinks £1.20 before l2.30am.

I Phar Out at Glasgow School of Art. 9.30pm—late. £2.50. Funky night sponsored by Dr lives and Stussy. Resident DJ Paul Cawley is joined every week by Nick Peacock. Colin Gate from Bomba or More from R.A.D.

I Reds 10.30pm-3am. £4 (£3 for students before 11.30pm). ‘Chunky funk. deeliteful disco and groovy garagel‘. Smart crowd using the club as more of an extension of the trendy bars around it than a heavy dancing den. Promo beers.

I Respect at Under 0's. Spin—midnight. Free. A blend of reggae and dub.
