Promotions/ Marketing Administrator. The Open University in Scotland

Applications are invited fora temporary ll month post of Promotions/Marketing Administrator at the Scottish Regional Centre in Edinburgh.

The post, within the administrative team, is one which will provide scope for creative input in developing networks, initiating new systems and procedures to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the region's promotional activities.

The initial duties of the appointee will fall into four main categories:

Proactive role: Which includes being the contact for press/ advertising; setting up a resource bank of "editorial material”; writing copy for press releases, PR leaflets and exhibitions. Supportive role: Which includes organising exhibitions and open days and evaluating participation in these events.

Coordinating role: Which includes being responsible to the Regional Marketing Group for coordinating, supporting and complementing the promotion and public relations in Scotland for all the Schools and Faculties and some budgetary responsibility in relation to these activities. Analytical role: Which includes identifying data and transforming it into usable information to inform the region’s marketing strategy.

Appointment will be made at an appropriate point on the Academic-Related Staff scale grade l §l4,3l7 - El 5,986 p.a. or Grade 2 El6,628 £2l,Sl9 p.a. depending on qualifications and experience.

DESIGNER

The List is looking for a new Graphic Designer for the

, mm magazine, various supplements q 1,“. mi and contract publications.

Regular work involves designing the front covers and feature pages on screen. as well as helping cut and paste the other sections of the magazine by hand.

We need someone who is talented and efficient with a strong design sense. Extensive experience with using Quark Xpress and preparing finished artwork by hand and a proven ability to work to tight deadlines is also required.

The post may be full-time or part-time depending on how versatile the applicant is.
