Edinburgh

I Spyro Gyra and Mike Travis’ EH15 Queen's Hall. Clerk Street. 668 2019. 8.30pm. £12.50. £8.50 (£6 on door. subject to availability). Jazz-fusion outfit Spyro Gyro used to have a very big following for their melodic. accessible. but distinctly bland take on that genre (which is still evident on their latest album. Love and Other Obsessirms). but it remains to be seen whether that following is still out there. The Jazz Crusaders didn't do as well as expected here last month. and it may be that fashion has left this kind of fusion behind in favour of the 3_ more contemporary sounds of the likes of Buckshot l-eFonque (see Sun 5) or Candy Dulfer (coming soon).

I ADD Tron Jazz Cellar. Tron Tavern and Ceilidh House. Hunter Square. 220 1550. 8.30pm. £3 (£2). Behind the initials lurk the Bancroft brothers. saxman Phil and drummer Tom.
