I What Is Rub A Dub? Rub A Dub is a record shop, club collective and soon to be a record label. I When/Where is Bub A nub? They Opened their first shop in Paisley ’92 and one in Glasgow ’94. I Why is nub A Dub? Feeling frustration at not being able to source underground records, Martin and Alan left good jobs (Strathclyde Regional Council and Rolls Royce respectively) and set up a record shop funded by Enterprise Allowance at £40 a week. Following their musical instincts, they sought records from Detroit and Chicago, reflecting an underground scene not catered for already. Seeing DJs like Slam and Pure making tlteir way down to Paisley, they decided to open up a second shOp in Glasgow. I Bub A Dub say: ‘We ntake it difficult by sticking to our underground policy. but with everyone else contpromising, someone has got to stand firm.’ I Who Is nub A Dub? Martin (partner and DJ). Alan (partner and overall shop manager), William (partner, DJ and producer), Marc (hip hop buyer, DJ and producer for Creation Records and his own Guiding Light Records).
