SQUASH III Bank Of Scotland Scottish Junior Open Championships Scotland hosts one of the biggest open tournaments in the world for racquet-wielding youngsters, with 80 per cent of the competitors coming from abroad. ATHLETICS III New Year Athletics Gala The long- established New Year fixture continues at Meadowbank (it began at Powderhall 125 years ago), and it’s one of the capital's most competitive athletics events. The ‘Eric Liddell Memorial’ New Year 110m Sprint carries the top prize, with twelve other distances competed for in heats over the two days. The action starts at noon each day.
