llory Weller answer: them crucial queries

I llama Cool Lemon.

I Occupation A club collective, record label and production team.

I lioll Call lain Paterson, Trevor Price and Brian Connelly I Age Mid-twenties.

I Ancient History They lived together in a flat in Cumbernauld. Iain was an avid record buyer and Trevor had been using his position as drummer in touring indie band The Thieves to go round the country checking out local clubs. In 1991 they put together acid house parties in the town using the name Dream. Brian became the promoter and Iain and Trevor the DJ 5.

I Modern Movements By 1993 the three had moved to Glasgow and were running Cool Lemon at the Sub Club every Friday. A year later, they were offered monthly slots at Glasgow School of Art and Edinburgh’s Citrus. These two nights gave them three times the money for less than half the work. This extra cash bought them studio time where they wrote and produced three tracks: ‘Audio Lemon’, ‘Voices’ and ‘Disco Bus’ which they released on their own label.

I Current Fun They continue to run their monthly events at various venues throughout Scotland: Iain plays house bordering on techno while Trevor opts for a slightly lighter housey mix. In February they have an EP out on Olympic records and another at the end of March on Bomba.

I Other Interests Both the DJs have day jobs. Trevor is a salesman for a printing company and Iain works for a bank. Brian is sponsored by the Glasgow Development Agency to promote Cool Lemon as a club and a production outfit.

I Goals They are striving towards putting together their own studio, giving up the day jobs and spending their lives making music.

Cool Lemon next play The Arches on Sat 20 Jan.
