MUSEUM OF FLIGHT Curator

Applications are invited for the post of Curator of the Museum of Flight. based at East Fortune Airfield, near Haddington. East Lothian. This is a permanent appointment.

The post is through graded Curator Grade E to Grade D and falls within the Department of Science. Technology and Working Life in the National Museums of Scotland. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of that Department, who is based in Chambers Street, Edinburgh.

The main duties will be the responsibility for all aspects of the day to day operation of the Museum of Flight and for initiating and leading the planning and implementation of longer term developments.

Enthusiasm for communicating the history and current practice of aviation and aerospace to the lay public is essential. Proven communication, management and marketing skills are highly desirable. Flexibility, versatility. the ability to work with minimum supervision and to develop from limited resources are prime requirements. A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.

Starting salary will be between £13,491 to £19,669 at Curator Grade E or £16,650 to £24,888 at Curator Grade D subject to qualifications and experience.
