Education and Outreach Projects

Grants to organisations with a remit for music education and outreach. Funds will complement existing provisions in the education sector, give access to people with disabilities as partiCipants in and audiences for music, offer skills and performance opportunities to disadvantaged groups and enhance community based work.

Closing date: 26 July 1996.

Performing Material Subsidy ASSistance to composers with the cost of preparing materials necessary for the performance of their work, such as copying, reproduction and studio costs. Closing dates: Last working day of each calendar month.

Visual Arts

Organiser tions/ Groups

Exhibitions and Projects

Grants to encourage and support innovative exhibitions and other Visual proiects through support for research fees, project costs, touring costs, critical writing and educational events.

Closing dates: 1 September 1996 and 3 January 1997.

Hiring Touring Exhibitions

Grants to encourage the wider circulation of touring exhibitions in Scotland and to assist galleries in presenting more ambitious programmes of temporary exhibitions through support for hire fees, transport and travel costs and associated events. Small applications may be conSidered throughout the year. Applications for larger proiects and applications concerning exhibitions not previ- ously seen in Scotland Will be considered by the Exhibitions Panel. Closing dates: 1 September 1996 and 3 January 1997.

Seeded Posts

Grants to develop the infrastructure for the exhibition of visual arts in Scotland through support for new visual art posts.

Proposals should be discussed in the year prior to their funding with the Visual Arts Officer (Exhibitions).

Travel and Training Grants

Grants to assist profeSSionals working in the Visual arts to travel within Scotland and internationally for specific purposes related to their work.

Individuals

Amsterdam Studio Residency

An award to enable an artist to develop his/her creativity by having the opportunity to live and work in Amsterdam, for a period of 12 months usmg SAC's studio there.

Closing date: 31 May 1996.

Artists' Awards Grants of up to £10,000 to enable artists to continue and extend their creative development. Closing date: 6 September 1996.

Small Assistance Grants to Individual Artists

Grants of up to £750 to assist artists with the smaller, more immediate costs involved in creating and presenting their work. Closing dates: 31 July and 31 October 1996.

British School at Rome SAC Scholarship

An award to enable an artist to develop his/her creativin by havmg the opportunity to live and work in the British School at Rome for a period of 7 months.

Closing date: 26 April 1996.

Australia Residency

An award to enable an artist to develop his/her creativity by havmg the opportunity to live and work in Australia for 12 months. Closing date: 31 May 1996.

Central Funds

Conferences and Seminars

Grants to support and enable attendance at conferences and seminars which address contemporary issues in and for the arts. Applications considered throughout the year.

Consultancies and Research

Grants to enable arts organisations to commisSion consultancy studies, feasibility studies, practical research and to local authorities to commission arts plans.

Marketing

The purpose of the fund is to develop a more strategic approach to marketing within arts organisations through support for research and development, staff training in marketing, and the development of marketing plans.

Training in Arts Management

Grants to individuals working in the arts towards attendance at short courses in arts management and grants to organisations for in-house training in equal opportunities and customer care. Applications considered throughout the year.
