An opportunity has arisen initially for a six month contract.

Assistant to Head of Drama is a key support role in a busy network department involved in output across the full range of drama with recent highlights being A Mug’s Game, Nervous Energy and the feature film Small Faces. The department works with many independent producers on projects such as Hamish Macbeth. (‘ardiac Arrest and others in development. You must ensure the smooth running of the Head of Department's busy life. juggling diary dates. arranging travel and providing her with briefing notes. You will organise the flow of information and papers. prioritising the work and handle many enquiries on her behalf. Working with the Department Secretary and other Assistants, you will ensure that all members of the department are fully supported and similarly be a source of help to our independent colleagues. The post also involves collating audience research and other background information.

To be effective in this role. you will have competent secretarial skills, be familiar with Windows soft ware. and be highly organised. You will have good time management. being prepared to work flexibly. and be a good communicator. able to deal with a wide range of people both within the BBC and externally. A knowledge of. and sympathy with. Television Drama is important.

Salary c. $13,000 pa Based Glasgow.
