I The big prize is getting tantalisineg close for Damon Hill. Alter his victory in the French Grand Prix last month, he sits a comfortable 25 points ahead oi Williams- Henault colleague Jacques Villeneuve. Most satisfying must be the 37 point advantage he holds over his greatest rival, defending champion Michael Schumacher. At Silverstone, Hill will be out to make up for last year’s fiasco when a collision with the German led to widespread condemnation oi the British driver, even leading to an apology irom Frank Williams in which he described Hill as ‘a prat’. Hill may be smashing records all over the place - he’s surpassed his iather’s championship points total - but gaining 10 points at the llorthamptonshire circuit will go a long way to bringing him the ultimate glory. (Brian Donaldson)
