Othlt Variations Until Sun 27 Oct. 8pm. £6 (£3.50). Grant Smeaton and Ross Stenhouse of Glasgow-based Tangerine Productions return with another quirky take on a modern classic this time this bitingly satirical play which was one of notorious American playwright David Mamet's first.

John Paul Jones Sun 20 Oct. 7.30pm £2.50. Playwright Lara Jane Bunting

combines with Take Two's Stuart Thomas for a rehearsed reading of a musical play originally commissioned by Scottish Youth Theatre. which celebrates the colourful life of one of Scotland’s liveliest figures from the 18th century. The play marks the 250th anniversary of his birth, and will be developed for a full production in 1997.

Every elanlt Cries Sharne Fri 25/Sat 26 Oct. 8pm. £5 (£2). Glasgow performance artist Donna Rutherford brings to life six characters searching for a sense of joy in being alive, from a preacher suppressing his sexual desires timely to say the least - to a five-year-old who confuses fantasy and reality. Rutherford’s worldview may be bleak. but it is blisterineg so. Part of the National Review Of Live Art.
