(the Scottish Boat, Caravan, Camping and Leisure Show was always a bit of a mouthful) Outdoors 97 will be aiming to follow up the success of last year's inaugural event. The core elements of camping. caravanning and sailing will be supplemented by fresh ideas for enthusiasts of golf. skiing, hillwalking and cycling. The dry slope and climbing wall make a reappearance while the landscape feature enhances the central theme of summer and what you can do at that time. A family ticket is available at £14.

Ken Donaldson. this talk will tackle the thorny issue of pollution and its effects on human health. The speaker is an expert on the impact of pollution on lungs and has been invited by Friends Of The Earth. Edinburgh.

The first meeting in order to arrange design workshops for the creation of a huge banner for the local community. The theme is ‘the life of our community . . . its past. present and future.‘ with ideas taking the form of graphics. photographs. written material or anything creative you can up with. Textile artist Pat Hodgson will be your genial host tonight as well as the leader of the project and hopes to have the banner ready any time after Easter.

SUNDAY 16 Edinburgh

Rather fortunately. not a guest appearance from Nick Berry but a chance for keep-lit fans to strut their stuff in a sponsored line dance and aerobics workout in aid of Chest. Heart and Stroke Scotland. Hence the name. Participants will be required to complete 90 minutes of frenzied movement split between the line dancing and aerobics. A prize will be awarded for the best fancy dress. while those busy bees who raise £60 plus will get a T-shirt.
