DJ Top Five

EVOL

Edinburgh indie night Evol has been going for five years with the help of DJ and mainman Keiron. It started at the Music Box in 1991, then moved to Wilkie House (where one night they entertained a small American band called Nirvana). Following that, it was at the Citrus Club, before returning to the Music Box (now The Liquid Room) in 1995, where it has resided since, as busy and as popular as ever.

Shady Lane Pavement (Domino) 'Epic poppy Iaidback Pavement by numbers groove.’

Song 2 Blur (Food) 'Blur re-invent themselves with out of phase guitars and a chorus to die for.’

Richard III Supergrass (Parlaphone) 'The Britpoppers gr "up with the Beatles-esque rift laden rock monster.‘

Radiation Vibe Fountains 01 Wayne (East West)

'The vibrato melodies of The Flaming Lips with the pop suss of a 905 Beach Boys.’

Block Rockin' Beats Chemical Brothers (Virgin)

'Full on dancefloor mayhem. Probably the busiest dancefloor hit of the year.’
