The

Taste’s third birthday party was conducted in the usual Taste style, which means packed dancefloors,

sweaty people and lots of anything- goes fun and games. Guests on the night were (in the main room) Jim ’Shaft’ Ryan (Miss Moneypennies, Birmingham) and Graham Gold (Peach, London), plus (in the back room) Yogi Haughton (Groove TheOry, Edinburgh) and Billy Davidson (Joy, Aberdeen).

Residents Fisher & Price warmed up the crowd before giving way to Ryan, who constructed a well-mixed, subtle build up. Graham Gold took over at midnight and proceeded to lift the night into another dimension.

But with all due respect to both main room guests, the real enthusiasm was reserved for the residents. They stole the glory with a storming shared last hour - and rightfully so. Taste remains perhaps the capital's most complete club experience. (Jim Byers)
