Finley Quaye Edinburgh's laid-back reggae merchant hits the big time as his debut album Maverick A Strike, goes straight into the national charts at Number Three, above ijrk and just below Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene. Roni Size The Bristol-based drum ’n’ bass experimenter who righteously stole the Mercury Prize from under the very noses of The Spice Girls, establishes his alternative reign of Size power. Glasgow: Arches, Wed 22 Oct. Spiritualized Jason Pierce lets it go and floats with the flow as he brings his mind-expanding, druggy drone rock to the masses. Frances-Marie Uitti Chicago-born cellist Frances-Marie Uitti is renowned for her revolutionary technique of playing her instrument with two bows simultaneously, and many contemporary composers have written pieces specially for her.
